Performed an air quality, hazardous waste and hazardous materials compliance audit at two university campuses in Southern California. The purpose of the audits was to evaluate and report each program’s compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The scope of work included the following:
- Developed audit protocol and objectives.
- Conducted an inspection of both campuses and observed representative program equipment and activities associated with the facility operations and research activities.
- Interviewed representative program management and support staff.
- Evaluated existing formal documentation pertaining to the programs, including permits, plans, emission inventories, written policies, standard operating procedures, and training programs that relate to affected equipment and processes.
- Determined and reported the compliance status with federal, state, and local laws and regulations of facility permits, registrations, plans, programs and reports.
- Reported program exemplary practices, strengths, and opportunities for improvement.
