Performed a qualitative assessment to evaluate the source of occupational dermatitis concerns and claims associated with the use and exposure to chemicals by assembly line workers during the production of a fighter jet fuselage at an aerospace facility. The assessment included: a review of potential exposure groups; a review of safety data sheets for agents of concern; over- the-shoulder reviews of practices and procedures of assembly line workers and supervisors in the primary building of concern; an assessment of the assembly floor diagram and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA); and a review of computer-based hazard communication training presentation, daily cost center safety checklist, and injury report. Based on the results of the assessment, a report was prepared and provided with recommendations to prevent dermatitis.
