Provided stormwater compliance support for thirty-one vehicle fueling and maintenance facilities and one network distribution center located throughout California. The scope of work included the following as required under California’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) General Permit for Discharges of Storm Water Associated with Industrial Activities:
- Review of non-storm water discharge visual inspection, monthly wet season visual inspection and annual comprehensive site compliance evaluation forms to ensure compliance with the California industrial storm water general permit requirements,
- Pre-season site visits to confirm communication protocols with site personnel; verify each site’s SWPP&MP is complete and accurate and that all structural and non-structural Best Management Practices are fully implemented; verify accuracy of site map; evaluate that No Exposure Certification (NEC) approval conditions are being maintained; review prior year sampling and analysis records at all sampling sites; verify location of all outfalls and confirm that storm water medallions have been affixed; and check functional working condition of Vortox sampler.
- Preparation and presentation for two training sessions,
- The coordination, collection and analysis of two complete storm water samples from each outfall from each sampling site within the first hour of the respective first and second eligible storm events of the wet season. Samples were tested for pH, Total Suspended Solids, Specific Conductance, Oil and Grease, Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, Cadmium, Copper, Lead and Zinc,
- Preparation of distribution of each facility’s Annual Report to the appropriate SWRCB,
- Preparation and submitting a Storm Water Quality Summary Report that included an evaluation of emerging trends and patterns within California and any regional issues, as well as, an evaluation of historical sampling results by facility in order to provide guidance on BMP implementation or to recommend changes.
- Preparation and submittal of Notice of Terminations (NOTs) and No Exposure Certifications (NECs).
