Wildfire Debris Removal Environmental Planning, Monitoring & Reporting

Sector: K-12 and Higher Education | Location: Pacific Palisades, CA

Led environmental planning, monitoring, and reporting for wildfire debris removal at Palisades Charter Elementary School as part of post-wildfire recovery efforts. Scope included:

  • Health & Safety Documentation: Authored the Accident Prevention Plan, Site Safety and Health Plan, and Activity Hazard Analysis to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Environmental Monitoring: Developed and implemented a comprehensive monitoring plan, including exposure assessments for respiratory hazards.
  • Air Quality Oversight: Conducted real-time perimeter monitoring for PM2.5 and PM10 at strategic locations, along with personal air sampling for asbestos, particulates, PAHs, heavy metals, and crystalline silica.
  • Hazardous Site Assessment: Supported development of the HSA work plan and performed field assessments for asbestos and other hazardous materials.
  • Asbestos Survey & Work Plan: Completed a detailed asbestos survey and coordinated the preparation of a removal work plan by a Certified Asbestos Consultant.
  • Stormwater Management: Prepared and implemented a SWPPP with BMP installation, weekly inspections by a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner, and photographic documentation throughout the project.
