Verified two (2) electrical transmission facility GHG Emissions Data Reports for a wholesale electricity marketing administration. The two facilities report power, sales, and sulfur hexafluoride SF6 emissions from electrical equipment separately. SNR had a total of 2,882,423 megawatt hours (MWh) of California total retail sales, 21,270 MWh of power exported from California, and 2,759,164 MWh of power imported to California. One facility had 1,324,690 MWh of California total retail sales, 519 MWh of power exported from California, and 71,527 MWh of power imported to California.
Verification services were provided for both facilities. The services included preparation and submittal of the Conflict of Interest and Notice of Verification Services to the California Air Resources Board; verification of the power entity’s electricity transactions and/or emission sources that included an initial review of systems and processes, preparation of a risk assessment, verification plan and sampling plan; site visit and kickoff meeting to collect data and evaluate operations; completion of data checks that consisted of tracing data in the emissions data report to its origin, examination process for data compilation and collection, recalculation of emissions estimates to check original calculations, and reviewing calculation methodologies used by the facilities for conformance; and preparation and submittal of a detailed verification report and verification statement.
