Conducted multi-media compliance audits at several facilities for a manufacturer and distributor of atmospheric gases, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, ammonia, process chemicals and specialty gases to evaluate and report the compliance status of the facility operations with applicable Federal, State, and local air quality, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, aboveground storage tanks, storm water and wastewater laws and regulations. The audit included pre-assessment, on-site, and post- assessment activities. The pre-assessment activities included a review of the scope, assessment checklists, a request for program documents, and a preliminary review of available documents. During the on-site activities, an opening meeting was conducted to discuss scope, objectives, approach, facility operations, key facility staff interview candidates and availability; a complete reconnaissance of accessible areas of the facility and satellite locations was performed that included an inspection of representative equipment, observations of representative site activities, review of practices and procedures, and staff interviews; and the general findings and preliminary results were presented to facility representatives. At the conclusion of on-site activities, an assessment report was prepared describing observations, findings, regulation references, recommended corrective actions and conclusions summarizing program strengths, and opportunities for improvement identified during this assessment.
